Martha Clare Soukup is an American science fiction writer and playwright, born on July 20, 1959, in Aurora, Illinois. She is part of the emerging playwright group Monday Night PlayGround, where she was awarded the June-Anne-Baker Prize in 2003. Additionally, her short story 'Over the Long Haul' served as the basis for the 1994 short film 'Override' directed by Danny Glover.
