Marlene Lehnberg (15 October 1955 – 7 October 2015) was a South African woman infamously called The Scissor Murderess. At 18, she conspired with Marthinus Choegoe to murder Susanna Magdalena van der Linde, the wife of her 47-year-old lover. This crime led to her being the youngest woman convicted of murder in South Africa. Both she and Choegoe received death sentences, later commuted to prison terms. Lehnberg served 11 years of a 20-year sentence. Her case influenced juvenile sentencing laws regarding capital crimes in South Africa.
