Mark Christopher Sylwan (1914–1993) was a Swedish graphic artist, illustrator, writer, and inventor. He studied at various prestigious art schools and began his career with illustrations and satire for major newspapers. Sylwan is known for designing banknotes, including the 1952 thousand kronor note, and he founded the School of Graphic Design in 1948. He also invented the FAC construction system. Over his life, he was married four times and had one son, Mikael Sylwan, a graphic designer.
