Mark Mondesir is a British jazz drummer born on December 12, 1964, in Stepney, London. He started playing drums at the age of 12 and became largely self-taught. Initially focused on funk and fusion, he transitioned to jazz in the mid-1980s through workshops. He gained prominence in the jazz scene and collaborated with renowned musicians and bands, including Courtney Pine, Jazz Warriors, and John McLaughlin. Mondesir has also played with various notable artists outside of jazz, showcasing his versatility. He is the brother of composer Michael Mondesir.
