Mark Janssen is a Dutch illustrator born on July 24, 1974, in Eijsden. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht in 1997 and has since worked as a full-time illustrator in Valkenburg aan de Geul. Throughout his career, he has created illustrations for around 450 children's and picture books, for both children and adults, translated into over ten languages. His recent works include the acclaimed picture books 'Niets gebeurd' (2016), 'Dino's bestaan niet' (2017), 'Eiland' (2018), and 'Altijd dichtbij' (2020), with 'Thuis' winning an award in 2024.
