Mark Dmitrievich Sonin (1932—2010) was a Soviet and Russian zoologist, specialized in parasitology and helminthology. He was an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (elected in 1997) and received the K. I. Skryabin Prize in 1992 for his contributions to the field. Sonin's work significantly advanced our understanding of parasitic worms.
