Mark Boucher is a retired South African cricketer, born on December 3, 1976, in East London, Cape Province. He played for the Proteas from 1997 to 2012, representing them in a record 147 Tests as a wicketkeeper. Throughout his career, he set numerous world records for wicketkeepers, achieving 532 and 403 catches in Tests and ODIs respectively. He was also an aggressive middle-order batsman, scoring 5,515 runs in Tests and 4,686 runs in 295 ODIs. Boucher's career ended abruptly due to a severe eye injury in 2012.
