Marjan Margadant-van Arcken is a Dutch former professor specializing in nature and environmental education. She was born on December 24, 1945, in Rijswijk. After high school, she studied pedagogy and philosophy. In 1988, she received her PhD with a dissertation on the relationship between young children and animals. From 1999 to 2002, she held the chair of nature and environmental education at Wageningen University, making her the first professor in this field.
