Marit Bjorvatn (1938-2015) was a Norwegian teacher and politician active in her local community of Tvedestrand. She organized city walks, acted and authored for the local revue, and was instrumental in preserving the Tvedestrand town hall. Bjorvatn entered teaching at 50 and became engaged with the local teachers' union. She was a member of the Venstre party before joining the Liberal People's Party (DLF) in 1972, later serving as its leader. In local politics, she chaired building and culture committees and received accolades for her cultural contributions.
