Marion G. MacDonald was an American football and basketball coach, born on October 1, 1914. He notably served as the head basketball coach at Western Carolina University from 1945 to 1947 and at Washburn University from 1951 to 1960. At Western Carolina, he also took on the role of assistant football coach and briefly served as the head coach in 1945. MacDonald passed away on January 18, 1990, leaving behind a legacy in collegiate sports.
