Marija Andžāne (1909—1988) was a Latvian poet and educator, recognized for her literary contributions. Born in Ludzys, she studied at the Rēzeknis Teacher Training Institute, where she engaged deeply in literary work. Her first poetry collection, 'Reits,' was published in 1933. Andžāne taught in several schools and contributed to various publications. During World War II, she collaborated with literary groups and worked in a refugee camp school after fleeing to Germany. In 1951, she emigrated to the USA where she continued her literary endeavors until her death.
