Margita White, born Ulla Margareta Eklund, was an influential American White House press official who served under Presidents Nixon and Ford. Notably, she became the first female Communications Director for President Ford. She held this position from August 15, 1975, to July 12, 1976. Beyond her role at the White House, White was a commissioner with the Federal Communications Commission and led a lobbying group focused on new television technologies. Additionally, she was a founding member of Executive Women in Government. White passed away from cancer on November 20, 2002.
