Margit Zinke, born Margarete Meier, was a German communist resistance fighter against the Nazi regime. She was adopted and later took the surname Fleischner before marrying Zinke. Tragically, she became a victim of the Nazis and died in the Neuengamme concentration camp on April 21, 1945. Her life and actions exemplify the struggle against totalitarianism in Germany during the 1930s and 1940s.
