Margit Sebők was a Hungarian painter and educator born on December 9, 1939, in Karcag, Hungary. She spent her childhood in Berekfürdő and graduated from Eszterházy College in 1961, becoming a teacher of arts and geography. She taught until 1988, after which she worked at the Vasarely Museum. She was married to painter József Pogány and had a son, sculptor Gábor Benő Pogány. In 2004, a gallery in Berekfürdő was named in her honor.
