Margareta Ekarv (March 5, 1936 - June 30, 2014) was a Swedish author known for her poetry, plays, short stories, and novels. Her early works often reflect the rugged countryside of Uppland where she was raised. Ekarv also wrote non-fiction books about agriculture. She initially worked as a primary school teacher and later as a producer, but became a full-time author in 1984. She showed interest in writing for readers with disabilities, including a simplified version of Jan Fridegård's 'Yxskaftet'. Her play 'Drömmarnas barn' was performed by Radioteatern in 1996.
