Margaret Chalmers McLarty (1908–1996) was a renowned medical illustrator known for her work in the anaesthetic department at Oxford University. In 1960, she released 'Illustrating Medicine and Surgery,' a pivotal text in the field of medical illustration. She contributed illustrations to the first two editions of 'Anatomy for Anaesthetists' by Harold Ellis in 1963. Additionally, she was trained by Audrey Arnott, and together they established the Medical Artists Association of Great Britain in 1949.
