Margaret G. Kivelson is an American space physicist and planetary scientist, prominent in the field of space physics at UCLA since 2010 and also a research scientist at the University of Michigan. Her research interests include the magnetic fields of Earth, Jupiter, and Saturn, and she has recently focused on Jupiter's Galilean moons. Kivelson was the principal investigator of the magnetometer on the Galileo orbiter and has published over 350 research papers. She is an active co-investigator on several NASA and European Space Agency missions.
