Margaret Rice Cheney is an American politician, born on August 1, 1952. She served in the Vermont House of Representatives from 2007 until 2013, when she was appointed to the Vermont Public Service Board. Prior to her political career, Cheney was the managing editor of Washingtonian magazine from 1978 to 1989. She later relocated to Norwich, Vermont, and is married to U.S. Senator Peter Welch.
