Marco A. Gandásegui jr. was a Panamanian journalist and sociologist, known for his significant contributions to sociology in Panama. He served as the president of the Latin American Association of Sociology from 1977 to 1979 and was a sociology professor at the University of Panama starting in 1971. Gandásegui earned a Bachelor's in Journalism in Chile in 1965 and a Master's in Sociology in 1970. He obtained his Ph.D. from the State University of New York in 1985. His work primarily focused on sociological issues related to Panama.
