Marcin Giżycki was a prominent Polish film and art historian, critic, and filmmaker. He served as a professor at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology and as a Senior Lecturer at the Rhode Island School of Design. Giżycki was also the Artistic Director of the ANIMATOR International Animated Film Festival in Poznań. He authored several books, contributed extensively to publications, and received accolades for his contributions to animation studies. He passed away on October 21, 2022.
