Marcelo Miranda Soares is a Brazilian politician born on December 1, 1938, associated with the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB). He served as the mayor of Campo Grande in 1976, became the governor of Mato Grosso do Sul in 1979, and was elected senator in 1982. He returned to govern Mato Grosso do Sul in 1986. Between 2003 and 2012, he worked as superintendent of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure until his dismissal due to regulatory breaches related to infrastructure contracts.
