Marcell Jánosi was a Hungarian mechanical engineer and inventor, born on December 5, 1931, in Budapest, and he passed away in July 2011. He is best known for inventing the microfloppy and developing the MCD type flexible disk at the Budapest Radio Technical Works. Jánosi also invented an automatic hydraulic injection molding machine and participated in designing the first modern three-speed reel-to-reel tape recorder, Calypso, while working on magnetic technology for data storage.
