Raised in a farming family, she pursued education in philosophy and literature, earning a degree in decorative arts. After returning to her family farm in 1945, she blended poetry with agriculture. She contributed to various literary magazines and witnessed the decline of her village's traditional lifestyle. Her collection 'Les Saumes pagans' gained her fame in the 1970s, with several songs inspired by her poetry. Delpastre is regarded as a significant Occitan writer of the 20th century, alongside notable contemporaries.
