He began his music career in 1990, co-founding the hip-hop and R&B group Device in 1998, which lasted until 2009 and released three studio albums. Simultaneously, he formed the music duet Musiqq with Emīls Balceris, achieving hits in Latvia with songs like 'Klimata kontrole' and 'Abrakadabra.' Musiqq participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 with 'Angel in Disguise,' finishing 17th in the semi-final.
