Manuel Marino Miniño Marión-Landais was a Dominican composer, conductor, and music educator, born on January 2, 1930, in Baní, and passing away on September 9, 1996, in Santo Domingo. He trained in music from a young age and went on to study under notable figures such as Roberto Caggiano. He won the first Premio Nacional in 1958 for his work 'Oración de la novia' and composed several significant pieces, including a Requiem in 1959. Miniño also taught music theory and led cultural institutions in the Dominican Republic.
