Manuel José García Caparrós was a beer factory worker and labor union activist in Málaga, Spain. During the early stages of Spain's democratic transition, he participated in a demonstration on December 4, 1977, advocating for greater autonomy for Andalusia. Attempting to raise the Andalusian flag on the provincial council building, he was shot by police, resulting in his death at the age of 19. His memorial became a pilgrimage site for activists, and he was posthumously honored with street naming and titles acknowledging his contribution to Andalusian rights.
