Mangala Devi Singh was a pioneering feminist and human rights activist in Nepal. Active in politics from the age of 16, she fought for women's education, employment, and voting rights. In 1948, she led a delegation to demand these rights from the Prime Minister. Her leadership in the Nepal Women's Association was marked by an ideological split regarding the approach to women's rights, ultimately leading to her removal as president in 1952. She passed away in August 1996 at the age of 70.
