Malathi Chendur was a prominent Indian writer, novelist, and columnist born on December 26, 1928. She began her writing career as a novelist in 1949 and authored 26 novels in Telugu. She also translated over 300 novels from other languages into Telugu. In 1992, she was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for her novel 'Hridaya Netturu'. Additionally, she wrote a weekly column titled 'Pramadabhanam' for the Andhra Prabha newspaper, which continued to be published for 47 years.
