Makio Takemura (born February 25, 1948) is a Japanese Buddhist scholar specializing in Yogacara, Zen, and Mahayana Buddhist philosophy. He earned a Doctorate in Literature from the University of Tokyo in 1993. He holds the titles of Emeritus Professor at both Tsukuba University and Toyo University, where he has served as the president. Through his career, he has contributed significantly to the study of Buddhism.
