Waduge Warunasiri Mahinda Deshapriya is a prominent Sri Lankan civil servant known for his role as the 1st Chairman of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka from 2015 to 2020. Prior to this, he served as the 8th Commissioner of the Department of Elections from 2011 to 2015. He announced his intention to resign from his position on 30 November 2019, which he communicated to the speaker of parliament and the president.
