Mahasundari Devi (15 April 1922 - 4 July 2013) was an Indian painter associated with the traditional Madhubani painting style from the Mithila region of Bihar. This art form is characterized by vibrant geometric patterns created using fingers, twigs, and natural colors. She was recognized for her contributions to this ancient craft, receiving honors such as the Tulsi Award from the Madhya Pradesh government in 1995 and the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, from the central government in 2011.
