Magadi Puttarudriah was an influential Indian entomologist born on December 16, 1903. He served in the Government of Mysore and later in the Government of Karnataka. He played a significant role in academia as the first professor of entomology at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, when it was founded in 1964. His contributions to the field of entomology and education have had a lasting impact, and he remained active in his profession until his death on December 12, 1983.
