Mads Eg Damgaard (1913-1999) was a Danish carpet manufacturer and politician. He founded his textile company in 1937 and transitioned to carpet production in the early 1950s. He embraced new technologies, introducing information technology to his factory in the 1970s. Active in politics, he served on the Herning City Council for 13 years and in the Danish Parliament for the Conservative Party from 1964 to 1973. A co-founder of Herning High School, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Herning in 1988. His memoirs were published in 1991.
