Madhuri Kanitkar is a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army, known for being the third woman to achieve the rank of three-star general after Lieutenant General Punita Arora and Air Marshal Padmavati Bandopadhyay. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Chief (Medical) of the Integrated Defence Staff under the Ministry of Defence in India. She is also a member of the Prime Minister's Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council. Her husband, Lt Gen Rajiv Kanitkar, is a retired army officer who served as the Quartermaster General of the Indian Army. They are the first couple in the Indian Armed Forces to both hold three-star ranks.
