Maḥmūd Maghribī was an Egyptian contemporary poet, born in February 1962 in Qena, Egypt. He was known by the nicknames 'Sindbad' and 'Poet of Upper Egypt.' Maghribī began writing in Modern Standard Arabic in the late 1970s, and his poetry was published in various literary magazines both in Egypt and abroad. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards in Egypt for his contributions to literature. He passed away on September 3, 2015.
