M. K. Kannan, born on December 29, 1948, is an influential Indian politician and a prominent leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He previously served as the general secretary of the Communist Marxist Party and represented the Thrissur constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 1980 to 1982. Additionally, Kannan holds the distinction of being the first Vice President of Kerala Bank.
