Məqsəd Qocamanov is a Doctor of Technical Sciences and a professor. He serves as the department head at Baku State University (BDU). He is recognized as the first and only doctor of sciences in the field of Geodesy and Cartography in Azerbaijan. Additionally, he is the chairman of the Azerbaijani representative office of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
