Luke Somers (1981 - December 2014) was an American photographer and journalist who was kidnapped in Sana'a, Yemen, in September 2013. He was killed during a failed rescue operation in December 2014. Somers was covering the events of the Yemeni Revolution in Sana'a at the time of his abduction, highlighting the challenges and dangers faced by journalists in conflict zones.
