Ludwig-Holger Pfahls is a German lawyer and former political official born on December 13, 1942, in Luckenwalde. He served as the president of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution from 1985 to 1987 and later as state secretary in the Federal Ministry of Defense until 1992. Pfahls was convicted in 2005 for acceptance of advantages and tax evasion related to arms dealer Karlheinz Schreiber, receiving a sentence of two years and three months. In 2011, he was sentenced to four and a half years for fraudulent bankruptcy and fraud after years of living in hiding.
