He has won 20 tournaments in Taiwan and achieved remarkable success on the Asia Golf Circuit, winning seven national opens and being a two-time overall circuit champion. He competed on the Ben Hogan Tour in 1992 with a best finish of T-5. Lu also played on the Japan Golf Tour and made a notable comeback to competition in 2009 after an eight-year absence due to back injuries. He won the 2011 Fubon Senior Open on the European Senior Tour.
