Dame Lois Muir is a prominent New Zealand netball coach and administrator, as well as a former player in both netball and basketball. Born on April 16, 1935, she represented New Zealand as a member of the Tall Ferns and the Silver Ferns. Muir served as head coach of the Silver Ferns for 15 years, leading them to multiple World Championships victories. In recognition of her contributions to sports, she received several honors, including being named a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit and an inductee of the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame.
