Lobsang Dolma Khangkar was a 13th generation doctor of traditional Tibetan medicine born on July 6, 1934, in Kyirong, Tibet. She notably traveled with the Dalai Lama to India in 1959 and became the first woman to serve as chief physician at the Men-Tsee-Khang. Khangkar was integral to her family's legacy of medicine, with her daughters, Tsewang Dolkar Khangkar and Pasang Gyalmo Khangkar, following in her footsteps. She passed away on December 15, 1989, in Dharamsala, India.
