Ljubiša Jocić was a Serbian writer, poet, journalist, and director, known for his experimental contributions to literature. Born on June 19, 1910, in Ub, Serbia, he studied sculpture in Paris where he interacted with both French and Yugoslav surrealists. A nonconformist, Jocić distanced himself from the Belgrade surrealist group while being influenced by them. During the 1930s, he turned towards socially engaged literature, exemplified in his novel 'Polomljena kola'. He also joined the partisan movement in WWII and later organized avant-garde art exhibitions.
