Liūtas Mockūnas (1934-2007) was a Lithuanian-American journalist, writer, and cultural critic known for his activism in the Lithuanian World Community. After fleeing to Germany during WWII and settling in the U.S., he became involved in Lithuanian-American organizations and edited several cultural books. His notable works include 'Words and Meaning' and 'Tired Hero,' exploring Lithuanian cultural topics and resistance against the Soviet Union. He returned to Lithuania in 2005, contributing to the cultural discourse until his death in 2007.
