Liu Yu (October 26, 1938 – February 26, 2020) was a Chinese paleographer and bronze artifact researcher. He was born in Ji'an, Jilin, and was known for his expertise in ancient Chinese writing and bronze vessels. Liu served as the former director of the Department of Ancient Artifacts at the Palace Museum, where he contributed significantly to the field of Chinese archaeology and historical studies.
