Lin Hujia was a prominent Chinese communist politician who served as the first secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China from 1978 to 1981. He also held the position of Chairman of the Beijing Revolutionary Committee and later became the Minister of Agriculture. A member of the Communist Party since 1938, Lin participated in the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War. He was involved in provincial leadership in Zhejiang before facing persecution during the Cultural Revolution and returned to political life in 1974.
