Li Xuefeng was a Chinese communist politician, born on January 19, 1907, and passed away on March 15, 2003. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1933 and rose to prominence in the 1950s. He served as Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee starting in 1956, first Secretary of the Northern Bureau, and Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress. Although he supported the Cultural Revolution, he fell out of favor in 1967. He led Hebei province from 1968 to 1971 before being imprisoned and later rehabilitated in 1982.
