He was a key figure in the Lingnan School of traditional Chinese painting, known for his works in the Shanshui and huaniao themes. He learned under his father and studied at Chunshui studio and the Tokyo Art Institute. His work gained fame, with one painting fetching 89.6 million renminbi in 2013, illustrating the high regard for his contributions to art. He passed away on December 19, 2001.
