Henry LeRoy "Sunshine" Campbell was an American football player born in Pittsburgh on October 27, 1915. He made a name for himself as a minor league quarterback in the 1930s and notably played for teams like the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Blue Birds. After his sports career, he served as the sheriff of Carroll County, Maryland, for 20 years, becoming the longest-serving sheriff in the county's history. He was active in youth sports coaching and lived above the jail with his wife until 1970. Campbell passed away on January 3, 2007.
