Leonard James Beecher (21 May 1906 – 16 December 1987) was an Anglican archbishop, born in England. He made history as the first archbishop of the Province of East Africa, which includes Kenya and Tanzania, serving in this role from 1960 to 1970. His leadership and dedication contributed significantly to the Anglican community in the region. His significant tenure helped shape the church's direction and outreach within the African context during a period of great change and growth.
